“Ta-da! If you need to read this article to get experience for the upcoming interview please congratulations and good luck to you. Hoping my true story will make it easy to imagine how a visa interview for Aupair will take place and draw your own experience.

Please note that this article is based entirely on personal experience, without any research or official information from any of the units. Let’s look at this as I personally confide with you about the story I applied for US Visa.

I remember clearly before the interview I was so “stressed”. Thankyou to Ms.Thinh’s encouragement and the rehearsal interview with her. Also, do not forget to checklist for what I need to prepare: full profile, accurate information, review about the program, the family, the child, about myself and everything. In addition, I also find out more about the ways to visa interviews on the internet.

That night I sleep very early to get healthy, do not forget to prepare the suit in the style of “elegant” (quoted Ms. Thinh). The next morning to take shower, make up lightly, tidy hair, eat well, go early to avoid traffic jam, parking and wait in line queue.

Setting in my heart: polite – elegant. I kept the mood relaxed, a slight smile on the lips, take a quick look the brochure was given while waiting in the interview room. Watching out for people. Who pass that can see the instant: bright face, speak clearly. Some people are the face just stoop to the ground, beat the foot, eyes lost from sitting to wait and when joining interview will heard the embassy say sorry immediately.

I arrive early so I only have to wait a while for the next turn. Enter the door no.2 where I want. There is an embassy, blonde hair with brightly smile. Look is so friendly. Hihi. This is the dialogue of two people in my memory. It’s like a story between two friends. The words can be changed by memory, but the content is kept almost intact.

P is me, and X is him.

I started the conversation before

Q: Good morning! (do not forget to smile like a sunflower)

X: Oh good morning, can you speak English?
P: Yes, sure
X: Ok, let me see your files
P: Sure, here you are
X: Oh, Aupair, congratulations
P: Thank you
X: Where are you going to stay?
P: I’m going to stay in Evergreen, Colorado with **** family to take care of their 3-year-old son.
X: Do you know the address?
P: I don’t remember the number but it is in **** Drive, Evergreen, Colorado.
X: Do you have any relatives in America?
P: Well, sadly no. But I have lots of friends there.
X: What do you plan to do when coming back to Vietnam?
P: Well… I will continue to do my job as a teacher.
X: Oh, of course. I see that you have to get some credits to finish your program. Where are you going to study?
P: I talked to my host family about that and they told me there are some colleges near there, it is ***** College and **** College or something. I don’t really remember the name though. But it will take me like 20 minutes only to get there by car.
X: What courses do you plan to take?
P: Yeah. I’ve been thinking about that. I’d like to take some courses on English to improve my English or some Childcare courses since it’s related to my professions. Or classes about writing would be nice. But I haven’t decided yet. My family told me to get there first and then we can visit the school and see how the schedule is like.
X: I see.
• Suddenly X changed sitting position, looking straight into my eyes
X: Can you tell me how do you know about your agency?
• I am a bit embarrassed because he become more solemnly
P: Oh … well … I wanted to work and travel abroad in the program “Work & Travel” but it was closed in Vietnam I think. So I searched online and found out about the Aupair program. And then I found the website of Global Vietnam Aupair and contacted them. They asked me to create an account on the Great Aupair and matched with a family there.
• At this time, Mr. X looked down at the DS-2019 and nodded when I mention of “The Great Aupair”
X: Wonderful. When do you start your program?
Q: February this year
X: Congratulations. Since it’s Tet holiday so I do not think we can deliver the passport to you, you can pick up your visa here on Monday.

Gosh, I’m glad to scream but I still have to calm down, give him a happy smile, thanks him and go home . Step slightly as a cloud. Over the moon.
The pleasure is gotten double when the passport with visa is delivered to my home the next morning. Oh yes!
